Of A Mesh - demos, rehearsal and live tapes found!

Here is a repost from the Curse of the Hearse Records Blog:

Alan Dollgener's sister, Alice sent a quantity of tapes with assorted unknown and unreleased songs from Alan's bands Of A Mesh, Muscle and Reverb Sleep. Curse of the Hearse Records is indebted to Alice for this treasure trove of music. We'll do our best to present these songs on a few releases.
There is a pretty good Of A Mesh rehearsal tape, alternate versions of some later demo tracks and other songs I have not yet readilly identified. New material or cover songs. Perhaps the best of the lot is a tape marked "Of A Mesh live CBGB's THANKSGIVING" which could well be from 1988. Darned good quality, too.

Alice is also seeking out Alan's lyrics folder. Fingers crossed. STAY TUNED!

Great! Will you re-release their entire output without any left off tracks from the k7s & vynil? (Same question about the other NYC bands...)

Hopefully. It depends on the amount of material and the space on discs. Studio could easily be a double CD, and live tracks and a show or two make up even more. If two versions of a song exist, alternate versions may be omitted.

Likewise, vinyl will be a little more exclusive and selective with tracks, since it fits fewer songs.

We'll have to see what the band members feel as the material is mastered.

Hello Fritzie,

I'm quite looking forward to the digitized, comprehensive collection of the amazing OF A MESH. Their music was really exceptional and making it available to fans of Goth and superb music in general is LONG overdue. And of course I have to mention that their two vinyl 12'EPs, have sold from $20 to $80, EACH when they do appear. So it will be wonderful to finally get them BOTH, plus many other live, demo and rare tracks, for a very affordable price. And, knowing your high standards for quality, I'm sure the packaging will be both eyecathing and, well, stated simply, cool as hell!

Best Always, Wayne H.

Go on Fritz. Tell me something about Mighty Sphincter, for example.
